Neutron-based investigation of aging aspects of the intrinsically safe cathode material LiFe x Mn 1-x PO 4

In this work neutron-based analytical methods were applied in order to study aging mechanisms of the cathode material LiFe x Mn 1-x PO 4 for lithium-ion batteries. The focus was on different storage and processing conditions with regard to the material morphology as well as Mn dissolution from LiFe x Mn 1-x PO 4 . The results provide, inter alia, new insights on simplified material handling and environmentally friendly, water-based processing.
