Removal of fibrin thrombi in disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). Morphological studies.
1981
: Twenty-one cases of untreated disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) were morphologically studied with special reference to the removal processes of the microthrombi. Four types of microthrombi were identified: intraluminal microthrombi with or without cellular reaction, and endothelialized microthrombi with or without fibroblastic reaction. They seem to indicate the course and the degree of disappearance of the microthrombi.
