Response by Søgaard et al to Letter Regarding Article, “Pericarditis as a Marker of Occult Cancer and a Prognostic Factor for Cancer Mortality”

We thank Drs Jin-shan and Xue-bin for their interest in our recent study suggesting that pericarditis signals an occult cancer.1 Drs Jin-shan and Xue-bin address the potential economic and patient-related costs of offering screening to all patients presenting with pericarditis, and they inquire about additional characteristics categorizing patients at high risk of cancer.
