Heavy metals in polluted ecosystem of an oak forest

1995
Abstract The measurements of all forms of atmospheric fallout, migration of heavy metals (HM) in soil water, in soluble and suspended form, and the stream output from a small watershed were examined. The geochemistry of Pb, Zn, Cd and Cu in a polluted ecosystem of oak forests has been studied. The process of HM fixation is concurrent with the process of their migration in the more energy saturated soil-plant part of an ecosystem. The main factor of HM migration is water-soluble organic compounds. The basic pool of accumulation of HM is a thin layer of mull; plants support a high HM load.
