MEASUREMENT OF SMALL ANGLES IN NUCLEAR PHOTOEMULSIONS

1957
The problem of accurate measurement of angles between the primary and secondary tracks is associated with nuclear interaotions of high energy particles with nucleons and nuclei in nuclear emulatons. These angles are of importance in the comparison of experimental data with theoretical predictions and in the study of multiple production of particles. A coordinate method which allows such a measurement to be made with sufficient accuracy is described. Formulas are given for the case when the beginning of the shower is outside the emulsion and for the case when the shower begins in the emulsion. (J.S.R.)
