A Serious Study of Fengshui Is Required——Thoughts on Reading Fengshui and Environment by Han Baode from Taiwan

In terms of the study of fengshui,Fengshui and Environment by Professor Han Baode in Taiwan is by far an outstanding monograph in China.As a book based on concrete evidence,no other current popular book on fengshui is any match for Fengshui and Environment.Understandably,Mr.Han does not firmly maintain that there is a scientific element in fengshui,which suggests that his "scientific outlook" is different from "ours" and worth doubting.Yet,Han finely appreciates and masters fengshui knowledge,analyzes it and respects it,revealing the nature of fengshui in the aesthetic planning system of construction-landscape-design from taboos in fengshui.Han holds that the first pursuit of landscape architecture is the harmony in form of all landscape elements.Thus,his view is eye-opening in the study of the aesthetic taste of the emphasis on form in fengshui.Meanwhile,he has put forward quite a few insightful original ideas,which also deserve paying attention to.
