ACE research briefing paper 010: Entrepreneurship in the Australian Mining Industry: Pull the Plug or Take the Plunge

This report is part of a large longitudinal research program into Australia’s mining industry. In July 2013, the Queensland Resources Council (QRC), the Queensland Exploration Council (QEC), and the Australian Centre for Entrepreneurship Research (ACE) at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), joined forces to help more mining ventures get off the ground. Awarded a government grant by the Australian Research Council (ARC), the project collects and analyses data on mineral exploration in the Australian mining industry. The aim of the research includes enhancing the understanding of what determines the success or failure of new economic initiatives in mining, with the ultimate goal of making them more successful and competitive.
