Corrosion fracture of equipment within wells and pipelines at western Siberia oil deposits

2007
It is shown that corrosion fracture of equipment within wells at the Western Siberia deposits occurs due to specific forms of corrosion, in particular hydrogen sulfide corrosion fracture (HCF) that is caused by the presence of hydrogen sulfide in aqueous solutions. HCF is connected with metal embrittlement by hydrogen that is a product of reaction with hydrogen sulfide.
