Design of a Unidirectional Reception and High Temperature Resistance Electric Field Probe for Measuring the Internal Electric Field of Plasma

2020
In view of the black barrier problem of spacecraft returning to the atmosphere, it is necessary to study the interaction between plasma and electromagnetic waves, so there is a need for space electromagnetic detection. The probe method is used to measure the electromagnetic field inside the plasma. The plasma generator is a confined space, and the metal cavity wall will have a multipath effect on the probe detection signal. Based on that, this paper designs a unidirectional reception and high temperature resistance electric field probe. The probe adopts the method of connecting the microstrip antenna with the inner conductor of the coaxial probe to reduce the influence of multipath effect and make the signal detection result more accurate. Through simulations and experiments, the probe has good gain and good directivity in the 4.8-5GHz frequency band, and the probe significantly suppresses the influence of multipath effects compared to ordinary coaxial probes.
