Etude thermoanalytique de quelques stéroïdes. V: Androstanolone

1989
Abstract Thermoanalytical studies of androstanolone have indicated the existence of polymorphs and solvates. The thermal stability, desolvation, sublimation and vaporization kinetics of two commercial samples have been determined. Their melting temperatures (180.0°C) and enthalpies of fusion (19.70 kJ mol −1 ) have been evaluated by DSC. After recrystallization six solvates and four polymorphs were identified. Melting temperatures were determined as: I , 182.3°C; II , 181.0°C; III , 179.8°C; A , 181.0°C after transition. Enthalpies of fusion were determined as: I , 27.15±0.24 kJ mol −1 ; II , 23.07±0.21 kJ mol −1 ; III , 19.79±0.40 kJ mol −1 . Polymorphs I , II and III are monotropic.
