Trimethyltin poisoning. Report of two cases.

Two chemists exposed to about 3 months to a mixture of dimethyl and trimethyltinchloride developed abruptly a status of mental confusion with generalized epileptic seizures. Before the acute accident they already complained of headache, episodes of violent pain sine materia in various organs and psychic disturbances (memory defects, loss of vigilance, insomnia, anorexia, disorientation). The clinical picture is rather similar to that caused by triethyltin and it is likely that the substance responsible for the patients symptomatology is trimethyltincloride. Both patients recovered completely following removal from exposure.
