Estimation of quality of reconstructed image in self-associative Fourier holography scheme

In the work considered is the Fourier-holography scheme with identical object and reference beams which possesses a self-associative image reconstruction feature, as a signal processing device. Such a device has to be characterized particularly with signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and a limit of detection (LD). The paper describes an approach that allows deriving the SNR parameter from the known properties of the scheme. Image quality in the form of visibility or average contrast (V=(I max −I min )/(I max +I min )) is also obtained. Some estimations and predictions are made based on the results of consideration. Particularly shown is that image quality parameters are predominantly governed by image density.
