The UK SRC Computer Network

In this talk I shall be giving a case study of the ‘move to computer networking’ within a particular UK organisation, namely the UK Science Research Council. I shall be discussing both the requirements for computer networking from within this organisation and the technical problems of implementation. However, in order to set the scene I would like first to tell you a little about the work of the Science Research Council and about the work of its largest Laboratory, the Rutherford Laboratory.
