Religious communities and animal welfare

I welcome the opportunity to respond to Mr Cohen’s letter and I would particularly address three aspects. First, I am concerned, as is the BVA, about various issues around animal welfare including (but this is by no means a complete list) the transport of animals, the breeding of animals with conformational problems and the treatment of animals at death whether with or without stunning.
