Morphological Characters of Root System of Different New Flue-cured Tobacco Varieties at Seedling Stage

The relationships between roots length,roots width,root number,root area,root volume and dry matter of new tobacco varieties before transplanting were analyzed by using the correlation and path analysis to provide the theoretical basis for tobacco breeding and rearing sound seedlings in Yibin city and the similar ecological areas.The results showed that roots length and roots quantity had the significant effect on dry matter accumulation of tobacco seedlings and other roots composition factors had a little effect on dry matter accumulation of tobacco seedlings.
