Triangular Norms for Gravitational Wave Data Fusion

2020
The first direct observation of gravitational waves of cosmic origin was a milestone in fundamental research, paving the way to gravitational wave and multimessenger astronomy. In this paper, we discuss the application of t-norms as a possible natural tool for implementing consistency tests between the data gathered by different noncolocated gravitational wave detectors, useful for both discriminating transient gravitational wave signals from transient instrumental or environmental noises, and estimating the signal arrival-time delays between different detectors, and hence the direction of arrival.
