Measurement of polarization transfer in the charge‐symmetric D(d↘,n↘)3He and D(d↘,p↘)T reactions

The transverse vector‐to‐vector polarization transfer coefficient, Ky′y(0°), was measured for the charge‐symmetric D(d↘,p↘)T and D(d↘,n↘)3He reactions at Ed=50.6 MeV. The results are self‐consistent and consistent with a theoretical prediction based on a simple model. These results also lead to a resolution of the discrepancy between earlier experiments.
