Lens impact investigation on photometric parameters of some LED luminaires for exterior lighting

2016
Recently, LED lighting products has attracted much attention due to its cumulative impact on their application field. LEDs are particularly useful in exterior lighting domain because they are excellent directional light sources and reveals long lifetimes. Last generations of white LEDs have higher luminous efficacy and better color rendering than the high intensity discharge lamps. In this paper, white LEDs resulting by a phosphor converted blue (PCB) with a wavelength of 445nm are experimentally analyzed. Using different modules configurations, the variations of diferent photometric parameters have been investigated while varying the power electrical supply. Special attention have been payed to evaluate how much the presence and type of lenses used in the LED packages construction influnce the same photometric performances.
