CT evaluation of 36 cases of orbital tumors
1992
This paper retrospectively analysed the CT findings of 36 patients with orbital tumors, of whom 31 had intraorbital neoplasm, and the remaining 5 extraorbital tumors. All thesc cases wcrc diagnostically verified by surgery and pathological studies. We hold that CT examination has a high accuracy in detecting ncoplasms and estimating their spatial dimension (100%). It can also accurately differentiatc benign tumors from malignant ones (91%). However, it is of limited use in histopathologieall diagnosis. Differential diagnosis of the tumors was also discussed.
