A Case of Holoprosencephaly with Atypical CT Findings and No Facial Anomaly

1985
Holoprosencephaly is generally thought to be an anomaly due to a growth disturbance in the process of differentiation of the prosencephalon in the 5th week of the embryonic stage. The diagnosis of this disease only by CT scan is extremely difficult except in typical cases. There are cases of holoprosencephaly which are misdiagnosed as extensive subdural effusion on CT scan, being without facial anomaly such as hare lip, cleft palate and hypotelorism.
