Method and system for tracking products with brands

Aspects of the present invention describe a method of tracking an item. The items are associated with a trade mark (302) and able to respond to a query from a combination (304) of tag reader and tag. The combination of tag reader and tag is able to identify the brand of the associated items using a tag reader (304). For operation provides a tag reader (312) a request to at least one combination (308/310) of tag reader and tag to the identity of a mark (300) associated with the article. The combination (304) of tag reader and tag identifies the brand associated products and provides the identity of the article and the brand (302) to the tag reader.
