Charge transfer and 4fn-4fn-1 5d transitions of trivalent rare-earch ions in CsCdBr3

The positions of the Charge Transfer (CT) and the 4f- 4f n-1 5d (fd) transitions of the trivalent rare-earth ions in CsCdBr 3 are estimated using the Jorgensen and Dorenbos methods, respectively. The CT spectra of Sm 3+ , Eu 3+ , Tm 3+ and Yb 3+ and the f-d transitions of Pr 3+ in CsCdBr 3 were measured. Experimental and theoretical results are compared.
