Racket with piezoelectric rope

2014
A system includes a racket (10) having a handle (14), a frame (12) attached to the handle (14), and a string (18, 20) with two perpendicular strings stretched in the frame (12), performing allers- returns in the frame (12). The system also comprises: - for each rope (18, 20), a piezoelectric sheath (24) encasing said rope (18, 20) over most of its length, said sheath (24) being divided along its length into at least three piezoelectric zones (28, 30, 32) each capable of generating independent depending on the mechanical stresses exerted on the rope; and an electronic circuit (44) connected to the piezoelectric zones (28, 30, 32) of the strings (18, 20) for identifying a portion of the string undergoing the highest mechanical stresses as a function of the voltages generated by the piezoelectric zones of the strings.
