Detection of Pneumonia using Chest X-Ray Images and Convolutional Neural Network

2021
Pneumonia is an extremely severe contagion that causes inflammation in the air sacs of one or both lungs. The air pouches may be occupied with liquefied or pus which causes coughing with pus or phlegm, along with fever, chills, and exertion in breathing. Pneumonia may be because of a variety of reasons such as organisms ranging from bacteria to viruses to fungi. Pneumonia can affect us with varying intensity in seriousness ranging from minor to life-threatening. It is seen to be the most serious in toddlers and youngsters, humans older than the age of 65 alongside human beings with health problems or weak immune systems. Due to the severity of this disease, we are doing predictive detection scrutiny using x-ray images. This paper provides a walk-through of the method that we used for the prediction analysis of the data used using Machine Learning algorithms to design the model that we used is: Convolutional Neural Network on the same dataset. Additionally, we have discussed the Confusion Matrix, which predicts the accuracy of the designed models.
