Rearview mirror for vehicle, especially, for motor vehicle

PURPOSE: To provide a rearview mirror for vehicles, especially, for motor vehicles with which a reflection coating is protected and a remarkable blue reflection tint is shown almost without relating to a high total reflection of 40% at least and the viewing angle. CONSTITUTION: This mirror is preferably composed of a transparent substrate made of soda silica glass, a rear reflection coating formed from a metal having a total reflection of 50 to 80% in a measurement on a surface to air, and a dielectric interference layer in three-layer configuration having different refraction factors while being arranged between the transparent substrate and the metal layer. The triple interference layer is composed of the three dielectric layers of a 1st layer 3a having the medium refraction factor while being directly supported on a transparent substrate 1, 2nd layer 3b having the next low refraction factor, and 3rd layer 3c having the next high refraction factor. A metal layer 2 can be coated with a protective layer 4 at need. COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
