Superoxide dismutase activity in some strains of lactobacilli: induction by manganese.
1989
Dialyzed cell-free extract of lactobacilli was found to contain superoxide dismutase activity by using a test system in which superoxide ion is generated by xanthine oxidase. The presence of superoxide dismutase activity was demonstrated when the strains were grown in media containing Mn 2+ ions
