Intelligent Blended Hydrogen-Gasoline Generator Emission/Efficiency Characterization in Context of EV Range Extension

2016
The autonomy is one of the problems that limited the integration of electric vehicle. Among different solution is the use of hybridization with hydrogen-fuel to supply the vehicle. This study presents an experimental study on a bi-fuel generator (hydrogen-gasoline), the influence of mixture richness (for hydrogen) have been investigated. Experimental results show that for a hydrogen-rich mixture, the performance of the whole system is increased meanwhile the nitrogen oxide production rate has been decreased. In addition, a model has been developed using a neural network algorithm to reproduce the performance and nitrogen oxide emission for a given operating regime.
