Low refractive index fluoropolymer compositions having improved coating and durability properties

2005
Having a co-crosslinked interpenetrating polymer network with the fluoropolymer phase and an acrylate phase, the low refractive index composition for forming the low refractive index layer on the optical display is formed. Fluoro polymer phase preferably contains and / or reactive cure site monomer having a degree of unsaturation in the polymer backbone is formed from THV or FKM-based fluoropolymers. The acrylate phase contains a multifunctional acrylate crosslinking agent, more preferably containing perfluoropolyether acrylate crosslinker. Formed low refractive index layer has an improved interfacial adhesion to other layers or substrates contained in the optical display. Furthermore, none of the mechanical strength and scratch resistance of the low refractive index composition also may be further enhanced by introducing a surface-functionalized inorganic particles in the formed layer.
