Modelling of tubular fixed-bed catalytic reactors : a brief review

Facts and concepts concerning the modelling and operation of tubular fixed-bed catalytic reactors are reviewed. Fifty-five experimental systems are reported, including the types of model adopted and the objectives of the various studies involved. The methodology of reactor modelling is discussed in association with alternative approaches to classical models and more recent analyses of the heat transfer problem
