Drug-Induced Disturbances of Glucose Homeostasis. Overweight and obesity are highly prevalent worldwide leading to increasing rates of type-2 diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia. Lifestyle and other environmental factors might contribute to increasing rates of metabolic diseases. Actually, several frequently used drugs including glucocorticoids, several antihypertensive medications, antipsychotics, and even frequently used statins are considered to potentially negatively affect glucose homeostasis.
