光硬化性樹脂を用いた血管塞栓に関する研究(機械要素,潤滑,工作,生産管理など)

2002
For a treatment of an abnormal blood vessel called an aneurysm, various embolism materials such as metal coils and liquid N-butylcyanoacrylate have been used. In this study, the authors propose to use photopolymer liquid as a new embolism material. Photopolymer liquid should achieve higher cavity filling rate than coils and its solidification should be surely and easily controlled by the light supply for photopolymerization. A micro balloon in an aneurysm is filled with photopolymer liquid with powder filler through a catheter tube and then light is directly supplied by an optical fiber. The whole volume of photopolymer is solidified by the light scattered by the filler. Also, the authors propose to use X-ray phosphor as the filler. By applying X-rays from the outside of the body, the photopolymer should be indirectly solidified by the fluorescence from the phosphor. The efficacy and possibility of the proposed idea is examined through several experiments.
