Promoting Citizenship and Access to the Right to Health: a Look of Caregivers

2021
The Residential Therapeutic Service (SRT) is an important device for the psychosocial rehabilitation of those discharged from long hospital stays without family ties. However, the care and supervision of caregivers stands out in the challenge of reconciling the autonomy of residents. To investigate the perceptions of caregivers about work in the SRTs and their relationship with the promotion of the right to health and citizenship for residents. Descriptive, qualitative study, developed in two SRTs in the interior of the state of Minas Gerais. During the first semester of 2019, data were collected through a semi-structured interview directed by Quality Rights and the Collective Subject Discourse was used for data analysis. The right to citizenship is guaranteed through access to a dignified life and through the psychosocial rehabilitation expressed by autonomy, inclusion and communication in STRs. However, few resources for leisure and few visits to homes represent existing gaps. The right to health occurs through the monitoring of residents in the Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS) and directing them to care in existing health services at different levels of health care. The promotion of citizenship and the right to health in the SRT is directly correlated to the work of caregivers who need support from the multidisciplinary team and training that ensure care based on the bond, respect and motivation.
