Historically, fishing has been a key factor for the development of coastal towns by providing important cultural, economic, environmental and social values. In the last decades, the change of economic model has caused a considerable fall in traditional activities like inshore fishing and the subsequent negative effects. In this context, tourist activities directly linked with fishing emerge as an interesting diversification alternative for the coastal zones traditionally dependent on fishing, both in Spain and the European Union
