Influence of post surfacing thermal treatment on working characteristics of forging tools

In the paper are presented results of investigation of thermal treatment influence on working characteristics of hard-faced forging dies. Properties are given of the hard-faced materials and the filler materials and theoretically is explained the phenomenon of appearance of tempering brittleness. Numerous conducted investigations point to the possibility of preventing the tempering brittleness both by metallurgical and technological measures.
