The task of health service in family planning in Yugoslavia

1974
The task of health care in family planning is examined in a historical perspective with special attention to regional developments. The need for even improvement in all of Yugoslavia is stressed as this has led to unequal levels in various provinces. Health facilities have not kept pace with the development of contraceptive facilities in family planning clinics. Th is a need for health technicians for maternal care with a level of specialization comparable to doctors. There is also a shortage of qualified personnel for health planning boards and advisory committees for family planning. From these needs has arisen a new definitive program on family planning which will command a greater amount of financial assistance. This program has shown favorable results in dealing with the needs of a growing number of women needing this service.
