The invention relates to the field of precision forming of racks, and provides a cold rotary forging precision forming method for a rack. The method is characterized by comprising the following steps that 1, a blank is designed to be a cylindrical long rod, and the diameter and the length of the cylindrical long rod are equal to those of the rack respectively; 2, a tooth profile of the rack is formed through swing of a cold rotary forging upper die, and the back face of the tooth profile is formed by a lower die; 3, a linear trajectory is adopted by the cold rotary forging upper die and is perpendicular to the axis of the cylindrical blank; 4, the cold rotary forging upper die is shaped like a pyramid, the taper angle of the pyramid is larger than or equal to 176 degrees, Boolean operation is conducted on two side faces of the pyramid and tooth profiles on the two sides of the rack in the radial direction to obtain a cold rotary forging upper die tooth profile; 5, the cold rotary forging lower die is matched with the back face of the tooth profile of the rack; 6, interference calculation is conducted on the upper die and the rack in the cold rotary forging process; 7, cold rotary forging upper die correction is conducted; 8, successive partial plastic deformation of the blank is caused under the combined action of the upper die and the lower die, and the high-precision rack is formed by cold rotary forging finally. The cold rotary forging precision forming method for the rack has the advantages that energy and materials are significantly saved, the production cost is reduced, the production efficiency is improved, and the structure and mechanical properties of the rack are improved.
