Electromechanical Actuators for Aircraft Aerodynamic Surfaces Control
2021
The actuators of translational motion with ball screw gears are currently widely used in control systems for flaps, slats, and stabilizing aircraft stabilizers. This article discusses the design of electromechanical translational actuators at the aircraft. The advantages of electromechanical actuators and electrical systems in comparison with hydraulic systems has been presented. Equations for calculating the aerodynamic forces that act on the flaps has been presented. The presented designs of electromechanical actuators allow to reduce the load at the translational action mechanism and thereby increase its life cycle.
