Site Effects Estimation for the Stations of the Capital Region,China Using Generalized Inversion Method

2009
Generalized inversion method has been used to estimate the spatial variation of site effects, using the digital data of SH-Waves recorded by 63 stations from 2001 to 2006 in the Capital region of China. It has been found that the site effects of base rock are stable and about 1.0 in the frequency range of 1.0 Hz to 10.0 Hz;while the site effects of deposit are high in the low frequency, about 3~7 from 1.0 Hz to 8.0 Hz and the site effect was protuberant at about 5.0 Hz,then fall as the frequency increases. These results show that the shape and intensity of station site effects are mainly influenced by the lithology below the station and also influenced by local geological conformation.
