Futuro inmediato del cáncer de vejiga metastásico: nuevas opciones de tratamiento en cáncer urotelial avanzado

Sin embargo, la mayoria de los pacientes fallecera de la enfermedad en los primeros 3 anos. Se estan testando multiples farmacos nuevos y combinaciones para mejorar la eficacia de los tratamientos actuales. Las dos estrategias que formaran parte del futuro inmediato en el tratamiento del carcinoma urotelial avanzado son: la combinacion de quimioterapia e inmunoterapia en primera linea de tratamiento, y el tratamiento con erdafitinib, un farmaco inhibidor del receptor del factor de crecimiento de fibroblastos (FGFR), y los anticuerpos conjugados (AC) en aquellos pacientes que hayan progresado a una primera linea de quimioterapia e inmunoterapia. EnglishIn recent years there have been significant therapeutic advances in metastatic urothelial carcinoma that have improved the prognosis of the patients. However, most patients will die from the disease within 3 years. Multiple new drugs and combinations are being tested to improve the effectiveness of current treatments. The two strategies that will be part of the immediate future in the treatment of advanced urothelial carcinoma are: the combination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy in the first-line treatment, and erdafitinib, a fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) inhibitor drug, and conjugated-drug antibodies (ADC) in those patients who have progressed to chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatment.
