The comparison of the microflora diversity between SPF degree KM mice and BALB/c mice.

Objective To analyze the fecal microbiota of SPF KM mice and BALB/c mice,and compare the richness,Shannon-Wiener index and evenness of their total intestinal microflora.Method Fresh feces of SPF KM mice and BALB/c mice were collected.Total bacterial DNA of the fecal samples was extracted and 16S rDNA-based polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis(PCR-DGGE) was performed.Result No remarkable differences of diversity of total intestinal microflora were found between SPF KM mice and BALB/c mice(P0.05),nor between different genders(P0.05).Conclusion In the experiments related to the microbiota of SPF mice,KM mice and BALB/c mice were recommended equally and the difference of the gender could be neglected.
