Sociální ochrana osamělého rodiče

The thesis is focused on the system of social protection of a single parent and the extent of provided protection in this system. The theoretical part specifies terms such as family, single parent, social politics and social protection. The terms family and its function and current position of a family are defined. The concept of a single parent, causes of single parenthood, specifics of social roles and living conditions of a single parent are specified. Basic terminology of social politics, namely principles, aims and instruments of social politics are defined. The system of social protection is analyzed regarding what possibilities of protection it provides to a family and a single parent. The aim of the practical part is to examine to what extent single parents are provided with social protection, how single parents perceive the extent of state social protection; the availability of social protection instruments is evaluated as well as the extent of their utilization or the rate of availability of information on possibilities of social protection. The research is realized as a case study.
