Examining the Effects of Cue Valence and Attention Load on Prospective Memory

2012
Previous research has shown that emotion can affect memory. The current study examines the influence of target cues’ valence on prospective memory performance under both nondivided and divided attention loads. We predict that positive and negative valence words will lead to better prospective memory performance than neutral words. Understanding exactly how target cue valence impacts prospective remembering is vital in the future research and design of memory aids.
