Development of JR Osaka Station and its vicinities

The north side of JR Osaka Station borders Umeda Freight Terminal, which has approximately 24 hectare of land dedicated for freight transport. It is a large patch of open space in the middle of the metropolitan areas. Relocation of the freight terminal, which has been anticipated for many years, has finally become a reality. As a result, the last prime location left in the metropolitan areas has now become the center of urban revitalization. This article introduces development of JR Osaka Station and its vicinities, as well as s subsequent developments in the surrounding areas.
