Survey of Endoscopy Center Nurses' Cognition of Cleaning and Disinfection of Endoscopes during COVID-19 Epidemic/ 消化内镜专科护士新型冠状病毒肺炎时期内镜洗消防控认知调查

OBJECTIVE To investigate the gastrointestinal endoscopy center nurses' cognition of protection measures of endoscopy during COVID-19 epidemic METHODS A questionnaire survey with the respect to knowledge of cleaning and disinfection of endoscopes and protection was conducted for the endoscopy center nurses across the country via Wechat platform, the questionnaire was designed as a applet to answer, with 40 multiple choices in total RESULTS A total of 2 084 nurses participated in the survey, 1 838(88 20%) of whom were aware of the' Recommendations for cleaning and disinfection of gastrointestinal endoscopes' issued by Chinese Society of Digestive Endoscopology, and there was significant difference in the awareness rate of the recommendations among the first, second and third grade hospitals (P<0 05) ;there was significant difference in the awareness rate of the recommendations among the management staff, the technical assisting staff and the cleaning and disinfection staff (P<0 05);there was significant difference in the degree of cognition of cleaning and disinfection, epidemiological knowledge, and protection measures (P<0 05) The rates of correct answers of the disinfection of negative pressure endoscopy room, disinfection of floors of endoscopy rooms and bedside pretreatment of the subjects were :63 77%, 46 26% and 55 61%, respectively;1557(74 71%) nurses agreed that the endoscopy should be suspended during the epidemic CONCLUSION The endoscopy center nurses are aware of the knowledge of epidemiology, cleaning and disinfection of endoscopes in various degree, however, the nurses of the first grade hospitals are less aware of the recommendations, and some of the nurses are less aware of the knowledge of cleaning and disinfection of endoscopes It is necessary to conduct special training of use, cleaning and disinfection of devices for the nurses in grass-root hospitals
