Soberania alimentar, movimentos sociais, cidadania e processo emancipatório

2019
This article addresses the challenges society must face, especially the organized movements of civil society, so that a Brazilian citizenship in favor of food sovereignty can become effective. These challenges are represented by autonomy, in the sense of freedom, equality, rights, solidarity, humanity; emancipation process and social participation. In this sense, the struggle for Sovereignty, Food and Nutrition Security (SSAN) directly implies a commitment to full citizenship, which guarantees social participation and promotes the autonomy and emancipation of peoples. The practice of the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST), therefore, has the potential to galvanize other actors in civil society in this struggle, seeking the much needed social justice.
