Diagnostic imaging of eosinophilic granuloma of long bones

2014
Objective To explore the radiologic features of eosinophilic granuloma of long bones. Methods The radiologic data of 16 patients with eosinophilic granuloma confirmed by pathology were analyzed. Results 21 lesions were examined in the 16 patients, including 12 lesions in femur,5 in tibia,2in fibula, and 2 in radius. The main imaging findings included bone destruction, cortex alteration, periosteal reaction, and soft tissue mass. Conclusions Eosinophilic granuloma of long bones presents special features on radiologic imaging. The combination of X-ray,CT,and MRI could help enhance the accuracy of diagnosis.
