The display method comprises the following steps: when a terminal begins to load information to be loaded, obtaining the preview image of the information to be loaded; displaying the preview image in an area where the information to be loaded is displayed, and covering the preview image with a preset mask layer; and calculating the loading progress for loading the information to be loaded, and regulating the transparency of the mask layer according to the loading progress. The embodiment of the invention also discloses a terminal. When the display method is adopted, the terminal can display the loading progress through the change of the transparency displayed by the preview image of the information to be loaded.
