대형 국적항공사와 항공운송업의 경영분석에 관한 연구 -재무비율을 중심으로-

This study conducted an empirical analysis with two groups of data. According to the results of the analysis, the financial status of both airlines improved in 2008 in comparison with in 2009 though Korea Air stood in the better status than Asiana. Although the composition ratio of income statement showed that there was a decline even for both airlines during the period, the decrease wasn`t significant in comparison with the average of the transportation industry (minus 23.4%) Wall`s Index Method to conduct composite analysis for the comparative business analysis of both airlines with the domestic manufactures. The results showed that the composite rating of Asiana Airlines was 129.3, which was higher than 109.4 of Korean Air. Because the score over 100 is generally acknowledged to be “fine”, we can say that the management of both companies was satisfactory. This study compared both airlines and the domestic manufactures only by their balance sheets. Therefore, the following studies need to look even into management and marketing strategies for deeper investigation and to suggest the directions upon the current status of Korean aviation industry.
