Community Approach to Improving Children's Oral Health

Olmsted County underserved children face multiple barriers to oral health. Only 33% of 12,000 Medicaid children birth to 20 years in Olmsted County had any dental service in 2012. Less than 3% of children birth to 2 years were seen by a dentist. There is a lack of integration between dental and medical homes. There are only 6 pediatric dentists in Olmsted County.
