Geopolymer cement: Synthesis, Characterization, Properties and applications

2019
Abstract Geopolymer is emerging as a new alternative binding material. It is made by alkali activation of waste materials containing alumino silicate such as fly ash, blast furnace slag, clay, etc. Geopolymer mortars/concretes are expected to be green binding material and consumes less energy. Production of geopolymer minimises waste production and protect environment. It has number of properties even better than conventional concretes. It can be used for 3D printing and can replace conventional concretes provided long term data is available. This article reviews some aspect of geopolymers.
